High contrast
High contrast games for babies
Many parents like bold black-and-white images for young babies: big shapes with strong edges are easy to see. Glowbug has a world and a set of games built around exactly that.
First Shapes
Big black and white shapes with touches of red rest on a pale background. A touch makes a shape slowly turn, ripple or change, then settle. Nothing moves fast and nothing flashes.
Bold Shadows
In the game library, Bold Shadows shows friends as dark silhouettes inside red rings. A tap blooms each one into full colour, then it slowly fades back. When all four are in colour, a soft celebration follows.
Off-screen high contrast ideas
- Black and white picture cards propped beside the changing mat
- A striped sock on a hand for a puppet
- Bold patterned fabric during tummy time
