Music

Music games for babies and toddlers

Little ones don’t need lessons to enjoy music. Banging, shaking, bouncing and singing together is the whole point. Here are music games to try at home, and the Glowbug games where every tap makes a gentle sound.

Music games at home

  • A kitchen band: pots, pans, a wooden spoon and a sealed shaker
  • Stop and go: dance, then freeze when the music stops
  • Bounce on your knee to a song, with a big “whoops!” at the end
  • Loud and quiet: tap a drum loudly, then very softly
  • Sing the same short song at the same time every day

Tiny Band

Tiny Band is a free Glowbug world for 1 to 3 years. A friendly drum, a rainbow xylophone, bells and a shaker play whatever is tapped, and the notes are chosen so it always sounds pleasant together.

Glowbug always opens silent. A grown-up turns sound on with one tap, and the volume is kept soft.

More musical games

  • Music Pads: big pads that each sing a note
  • Dancing notes and a little band parade that drift through Tiny Band now and then
  • Soft, in-tune sounds in every world once sound is on
