Painting

Finger painting for toddlers, messy and mess-free

Toddlers love making marks. Real paint on real paper is wonderful when you have the time and a mop. On the other days, there are mess-free ways to paint too.

Real paint, less mess

  • Paint in the bath with a little washable paint on the tiles
  • Paint in a sealed zip bag taped to a window: squish, no mess
  • Water painting on a fence or path with a big brush
  • Yoghurt or pudding “paint” on a high chair tray for little ones who still taste everything

Rainbow Paint

Rainbow Paint is a Glowbug Plus world for 1 to 3 years. Glowing paint follows a finger and slowly fades away, with soft splats and colour drops to tap. Because the picture fades, there is no pressure to make something: it is all about the moving.

Free drawing-style games

  • Stamp Art: stamp friends everywhere, then watch them fade
  • Colour In: tap to fill a big picture with colour
  • Gentle Shower: draw a soft shower of tiny friends
  • Dot to Dot: tap the glowing dots to draw a friend

Questions parents ask

Is Rainbow Paint free?

Rainbow Paint is part of Glowbug Plus. You can try it in the demo on the Glowbug home page first.

Can my toddler save their painting?

No. Rainbow Paint fades on purpose, so there is nothing to finish. At the end of a session Glowbug can make a Moment Snapshot card to remember it by, and it never uses the camera.
