Quiet moments

Calming activities for babies and toddlers

Every little one is different, and what soothes one may not soothe another. These are simple, gentle ideas many families like to try when things feel a bit much.

Slow things down

  • Dim the lights and lower your voice
  • Rock or sway slowly, or walk with them in a carrier
  • Sing the same short lullaby each time
  • Try a few minutes of quiet cuddles by a window

Gentle things to watch

  • A slowly turning mobile
  • Clouds drifting past
  • A lava lamp or night-light from a safe distance
  • Fish in an aquarium

Using Glowbug calmly

In the parent area, choose the Very Calm sensory level. Movement slows, there are fewer sparkles and sounds are quieter.

Moonlight Magic is the gentlest world: a sleepy moon, drowsy stars and a little bunny asleep on a hill. Pair it with a 5-minute session so it ends softly on its own.

A note on screens

Glowbug is designed to be gentle, but it is still a screen. Keep sessions short, keep it a shared moment where you can, and follow the guidance of your own health professional about screen use for your child.
